قَدَرُ اللَهِ كائِنٌ

حينَ يُقضى وُرودُهُ

God’s decree shall come to pass

when its coming is ordained.

قَد مَضى فيكَ عِلمُه

وَاِنتَهى ما يُريدُهُ

It has already been settled in His knowledge,

and what He wills has already been determined.

وَأَخو الحَزمِ حَزمُه

لَيسَ مِمّا يَزيدُهُ

As for the resolute man, his resolve

is not something that can add to it.

فَأَرِد ما يَكونُ إِن

لَم يَكُن ما تُريدُهُ

So desire what will come to be, if

what you desire does not come to be.
