إِلَهي لَكَ الحَمدُ الَّذي أَنتَ أَهلُهُ

عَلى نِعَم ما كُنتُ قَطُّ لَها أَهلا

My God, to You belongs all praise that You deserve

For blessings which I was never worthy to attain

مَتى اِزدَدتُ تَقصيراً تَزِدني تَفَضُّلاً

كَأَنِّيَ بِالتَقصيرِ أَستَوجِبُ الفَضلا

Whenever I am remiss, You increase Your grace to me

As if through my shortcomings I earn Your favor
