1. التيهُ مَفسَدَةٌ لِلدينِ مَنقَصَةٌ

    لِلعَقلِ مَجلَبَةٌ لِلذَمِّ وَالسَخَطِ

    Wandering corrupts religion, flaws the mind,

    And brings disgrace and anger in its wake.

  2. مَنعُ العَطاءِ وَبَسطُ الوَجهِ أَحسَنُ مِن

    بَذلِ العَطاءِ بِوَجه غَيرِ مُنبَسِطِ

    Better to spare your gift than give, unsmiling,

    For smiles increase the worth of what you make.
