لا تحسدَنَّ أَخاكَ وَاِر

عَ لَهُ عَلى الأَيّامِ عَهدَه

Do not envy your brother, friend

He has his covenant with the days

حَسَدُ الصَديقِ صَديقَهُ

وَأَخاهُ مِن سُقمِ المَوَدَّه

Envying a friend their fortune

Sickens the bond of brotherhood
