إلى بيتكَ اللّهمّ بالعزمِ أَقبلنا
حَطَطنا بهِ رحلَ الضيافةِ فَاِقبَلنا
To Your home, O Allah, we came with resolve
We pitched our tent of hospitality, so accept us
أَمرتَ بإِكرامِ النزيلِ وإنّها
لخطّةُ فضلٍ أنتَ أَولى بِها منّا
You ordered honoring the guest, and it is
A plan of virtue that You deserve more than us
أَتيناكَ والآمالُ فيك عظيمةٌ
وَبِالمُصطفى خيرِ الأنامِ توسّلنا
We came to You, hopes in You are great
And with the Chosen One, best of mankind, we implored
أَتحرمُنا يا أكرمَ الأكرمينَ إذ
دَعوناكَ مُضطرّينَ في بيتكَ الأسنى
Would You deprive us, O Most Generous, when
We called You distressed, in Your most lofty home
وَتَمنعُنا حاشاكَ مِن نفحةٍ لها
بِإِحسانِنا للظنّ فيك تعرّضنا
And refuse us - far from You - a whiff though
We presumed good of You, by our goodness exposed
إِلهي مَدَدنا راحَ راجينَ خضّعٍ
لِفيضكَ فَاِملأها بِآلائكَ الحسنى
My God, we extended our palms, humble seekers
Of Your grace - so fill them with Your fairest gifts
دَعوناكَ والإيقانُ مِلءُ قُلوبنا
بِأنّك تولينا الّذي منكَ أمّلنا
We called You, our hearts filled with certainty
That You tend to us as we hoped from You
تَعاليتَ ربّاً مُنعماً متفضّلاً
إِلى عبدهِ بِالفضلِ من نفسه أدنى
You are Exalted, Lord, Bestower, Munificent
To Your servant through Yourself You lowered
نَبوءُ لكَ اللهمّ بِالنعمِ الّتي
غَذوتَ بِها الأرواحَ وَالجسم مذ كنّا
We vow to You, O Allah, the favors with which
You nourished souls and bodies since we were
وَما إِن سَألنا حيث أسديتَها لنا
فَكَيفَ معَ التسآلِ تَصرفُها عنّا
When we asked not, You granted them to us
How then, when we ask, can You deny them from us
أَتمنَعُنا منها ذنوبٌ تَعاظَمت
وَها نحنُ قَد بُؤنا بِها وتنصّلنا
Would sins we exaggerated prevent us
When here we are, having committed yet disowned them
شَكونا إِلى غفرانكَ الذنبَ كلّه
وحقّ لَه في جنبِ عفوك أن يفنى
We complained to You of all sins, that by
Your pardon, all sins are bound to vanish
وَسيلتُنا خير الأنامِ وجاههُ
لَديك عظيمٌ مَن يمتّ به يغنى
Our means is the Best of Mankind - through his stature
Near You, mighty - whoever clings to him profits
أَلا يا رسولَ اللّه إِنّا توسّلنا
بِجاهكَ ما أسراهُ جاهاً وما أسنى
O Messenger of Allah! We implored through
Your stature - concealed or revealed - so lofty
ظَلمنا جميعَ الظلمِ أَنفُسَنا وقد
أَتَيناك فَاِستَغفر لنا اللّه وَاِقبلنا
We all wronged, we came to you, so ask Allah’s
Forgiveness for us and acceptance of our presence
وَكُن يا رسولَ اللّه مُستنجزاً لنا
مِنَ اللّه وَعدَ الفوزِ إذ بك قد لذنا
And be, O Messenger of Allah, for us achieving
God’s promise of success, as we found bliss in you
بآلكَ بالأصحابِ لا سيّما الألى
ببدرٍ غَدَت للدّينِ شُهبانُهم حصنا
By your Household, Companions - especially the first
At Badr - their valiance fortified the religion
وَبالتابِعين الوارِثينَ لهديهم
وَمَن عَنكَ أحيا سنّة الخير أو سنّا
By the Successors, inheriting their guidance
And whoever revived your Sunna of goodness
وَبِالأولياءِ الكاملينَ وراثةً
وَقرباً إِلى مَغناكَ بالحسّ والمعنى
By the perfect Guardians, through spiritual inheritance
And nearness to your refuge, in outward and meaning
سلِ اللّه أَن يُسدي بجاهك عندهُ
لأمّتك الميمونةِ الأمنَ واليُمنا
Ask Allah to grant your protected nation
Through your stature, security and prosperity
وَيبدلَ عسراً قَد دَهاهم وشدّةً
بِيسرٍ وتنفيسٍ يعمّانها منّا
To replace hardship - having afflicted them - with
Ease and relief, encompassing them from us
وَيُلهم فينا الرشدَ كلّ محكّمٍ
وَيَمنحهُ التأييدَ والنصرَ والعونا
To inspire sound judgment in us, every ruler
Assistance, victory and aid He grants
ويُسدِل لَنا في هاتهِ الليلةِ الّتي
بِها يفرقُ الأمرُ الحكيمُ الّذي يعنى
To bestow upon us on this night in which
The Wise Command is carried out it means
وَيبلغَ كلّاً ما ترجّاه راغباً
مِنَ الفوزِ في الدارِ منَ المقصد الأسنى
To grant all their hopeful aspirations
Of success in the Abode, the most lofty aim
وَصلّى عليكَ اللّه جلّ جلاله
وسلّم تسليماً به أبداً تهنا
Blessings upon you from Allah, Majestic His Majesty
And peace unending, through which we thrive
وَآلكَ وَالصحبِ الكرامَ سفينة الن
نجاة الّتي نَرجو بِها الفوز والأمنا
Upon your Household and the noble Companions, the ship of
Salvation we hope through them for success and security
