O Bestower before asking throughout the earth

O You to Whom complaint is due when misfortunes occur

O Honoror of Your servants with Your reward

O Commander to the afflicted to show patience

Your tribulations are veils to hearts from sincerity

For they are bliss and their way is to be thanked

Were it not for my claim to resist their violence

I would have asked my effort to increase and multiply

But my knowing my status necessitated

That I complain of my weakness, that I cannot endure

So patience silences me from complaining, pleased

With You, and my state does not cease to inform

Remembering You suffices me from asking, so my companion

If the injustice of tribulation makes me lonely, is to remember

No sooner do I remember You and tribulations misguide

The path of prohibition, except it sees at dawn

Enough for me is remembering You; with His name

Nothing harms, and that is my protection to be wary

You have shown me, O God, Your grace readily

Similar to that which You have shown me to overwhelm

Do not test me with afflictions, I

Flee from them to You until You consider

I am under Your protection, a companion in remembering You, seeking refuge

In the beauty of Your kindness, how could I fear harm?

Your sea of grace has accustomed me to a spring

Pure, so protect my spring from becoming turbid.
