يا زَائِريَّ عشيّة الإثنينِ

قَضّيتُما مِن وعدِ أمسِ دَيني

O you who visit on Monday eve

You have fulfilled yesterday's promise to me

أَحيَيتماني عِندما حيّيتُما

فَلي الهناءُ بِزورةِ الإثنينِ

You brought me to life when you greeted me

So joy is mine with Monday's visit

وَافَيتما يومَ السِّرارِ لِنحتسي

كَأسَ السرورِ بمجمع القمرينِ

You came on the day of secrets to drink with me

The cup of joy with the meeting of two moons

فَحسوتُها للفَرقَدين منادماً

كَأساً غَدَت تُسدي إليّ يدينِ

I felt it was for the two of us a drinking companion

A cup extended towards me two hands

تُهدي لشمّي نفحةً من طيّبٍ

وَتُبينُ بِشراً بالبشير بعينِ

Bringing to my sense of smell a whiff of perfume

And showing good news with the herald in view
