إِن طاعَنتك الحادثاتُ بأسمرٍ

فَاِفزَع إِلى عبد السلام الأسمرِ

If misfortunes wound you with darker shades

Then seek refuge in Abdus Salam the dark one

وَاِقصد حِماهُ ترى المخاوفَ عسعست

ظُلُماتها بِصباحِ أمنٍ مسفرِ

Go to his protection, you will see fears scattered

Their darkness by the dawn of secure cheerfulness

غوثٌ تضلّع مِن مَواردِ جدّهِ

بِالمشربِ الأهنا وحوض الكوثرِ

A helper proficient from the resources of his ancestors

With the gentle disposition and the basin of Kauthar

لَبِسَ التذلُّلَ للمهمينِ فَاِكتسى

حُللَ التدلّل في المقام الأفخرِ

He wore humility for the afflicted so he clothed

Robes of charm in the most glorious stance

يَختالُ في حُللِ الكرامةِ خارقاً

حُجبَ العوائدِ أكبراً عن أكبرِ

He struts in robes of generosity transcending

The norms of customs greater than the greatest

يا سيّدي إنّي بجاهكَ مبتغٍ

للّه خيرَ وسيلة المستنصرِ

My master I through your eminence seek

From God the best means of the victorious

إِن كانَ مَدحي عَن علاك مقصّراً

فَجَميل ظنّي فيك غير مقصّرِ

If my praise of your sublimity falls short

Then my good opinion of you is no less great

فَكُنِ المعينَ عَلى قضاء حَوائجي

عِندَ الوزيرِ المصطفى ذي المفخرِ

So be the aide in fulfilling my needs

With the Minister Mustafa the honored

أَنزلتُ حاجاتي بِبابك واثقاً

بِالنجحِ والتيسير للمتعسّرِ

I placed my needs at your door confident

Of success and relief for the distressed

لا زالَ رِضوانُ الإلهِ مغادياً

لِحماكَ بينَ مروّح ومبكّرِ

May the pleasure of God remain showering you

Between a gentle breeze and a scented downpour
