تَنَفَّسَ في وَجهي فَكِدتُ أَموتُ
وَأَعرَضَ عَنّي جانِباً فَحَييتُ
He breathed in my face, and I nearly died;
then he turned aside from me, and I came back to life.
وَنَسّى حَتّى حَسِبتُ بِأَنَّني
وَرَبِّكُما يا صاحِبَيَّ خريتُ
And he broke wind, until I thought that I—
by the Lord of you both, O my two companions—had shat.
فَإِن لَم أَكُن فَتشتُ حقّاً غُلالَتي
لِأَغسِل عَنها سَلحها فَعميتُ
If I did not truly inspect my undergarment
to wash its excrement from it, then may I go blind.
