رَأَيتُ رِجالاً يَكرَهونَ بَناتِهِم

وَفيهِنَّ لا تُكذَب نِساءٌ صَوالِحُ

I saw men who disliked their daughters

Yet in them are virtuous women who cannot be denied

وَفيهِنَّ وَالأَيامُ تَعثُرُ بِالفَتى

عَوائِدُ لا يَملَلنَهُ وَنَوائِحُ

And in them, as time trips up the youth

Are habits that do not bore him, and lamentations
