1. إِنَّ اِمرَءًا كانت مَساوِئُهُ

    حُبَّ النَبيِّ لَغَيرُ ذي عَتبِ

    A man whose faults

    Were loving the Prophet, though blameworthy,

  2. وَبَني أَبي حَسَنٍ وَوَالدِهِم

    مَن طابَ في الأَرحامِ وَالصُلبِ

    And the family of Abi Hasan and their father -

    Goodly in womb and loin were they.

  3. أَتَرَونَ ذَنبًا أَن نُحِبَّهُمُ

    بَل حُبُّهُم كَفّارَةُ الذَنبِ

    Do you see as sin our love for them?

    Nay, loving them absolves sin.
