لا تَكفُرَن قَوماً عَزَزتَ بِعِزِّهِم

أَبا عَلقَمٍ وَالكُفرُ بالريقِ مُشرِقُ

Do not deny a people whose might has empowered you

Abu Alqam though unbelief gleams on his sword

أَبا خُبَثٍ أَكرِم كِنانَةَ إِنَّهُم

مَواليكَ إِن أَمرٌ سَما بِكَ مُعلَقُ

Abu Khubth treat the Kinanah kindly for they

Are your allies though an affair confounds you

بَنو النَضرِ تَرمي مِن وَرائِكَ بِالحَصى

أَولو حَسَبٍ فيهِم وَفاءٌ وَمَصدَقُ

The Bani Nadir pelt stones at you from behind

If only in them were loyalty and truth

يُفيدونَكَ المالَ الكَثيرَ وَلم تَجِد

لِمُلكِهِمُ شَبهاً لَو أَنَّكَ تَصدُقُ

They give you abundant wealth but you have not found

Any semblance of their kingdom were you to be truthful

إِذا رَكِبوا ثارَت عَلَيكَ عَجاجَةٌ

وَفي الأَرضِ مِن وَقعِ الأَسِنَّةِ أَولَقُ

When they ride out, dissension against you rages

And the land quakes from the clamor of tongues
