The enemy said, "O Az, a brave man stands in your way,
Determined, on the road."
So I said to her, "By God, if hell itself stood before you,
It would not make my heart quail, no, not hell."
And how could a lovely sight frighten my heart, O Az?
Your face lights up the darkness when we travel.
And you have done no wrong, O Az, in loving me,
So do not blame my love, for it is blameless.
