I struck the ripe dates and transported
Those dates on the branches of the lute
So the mocker came fluttering, mistaking its wood
For a date palm when he saw that fruit on it
So wondrous is a fruitful piece of wood before
Leaves have appeared on it, unlike trees
Soon it will turn green
And we will see it has leaves, flowers have appeared
