اسكندر الشهم الرَفيع مقامهُ

بزفافهِ نُطقُ التَهاني افصحا

Alexander the noble and high-ranking

With his wedding, the congratulations were most eloquent

وَشدت طيو الانس في اغصانها

لما رأَت ثغر السرور تفتحا

And the birds of companionship tightened in their branches

When they saw the rosebud of joy blossoming

يا حسن يومٍ ارَّخوهُ لقي بِهِ

بدرُ الدجى في سعدهِ شمسَ الضحى

O beauty of a day, date it as the day

The full moon in its happiness met the morning sun
