1. الخصمُ لَيسَ لَهُ اليكَ طَريقُ

    أَنّى يَفوزُ وَخصمُه التَوفيقُ

    The adversary has no way to you

    How can he win when success is with you

  2. أَنتَ العَزيز فَمَن يقاومكَ اغتدى

    وهو الذَليلُ الهَيِّنُ المَخروقُ

    You are mighty - who dares resist you transgresses

    While he is abased, submissive and torn

  3. بك يُحرَم المحروم في الدينا بما

    كسبت يَداهُ وَيُرزَقُ المَرزوقُ

    Through you the deprived in faith are denied what

    their hands have earned, while the graced are granted providence

  4. راق الزَمانُ وقد اراق دِمآءَ من

    قد ناؤوكَ فرائِقٌ ومريقُ

    Time has passed and shed the blood of those

    who opposed you - factions and seceders

  5. وافى اليك كمُرسَلٍ في مأربٍ

    لك قد قضاهُ كَما اليهِ تَتوقُ

    Loyal to you as if sent in Ma’rib

    To you they came as they yearned

  6. فانعَم فانَّ الدهر عبدك طائِعاً

    بَرّا وبعض الخادمين عَقوقُ

    So grace us - time is your obedient slave

    Some servants may be ungrateful

  7. كعِصابَةٍ ثاروا عليك وعندهم

    انَّ الزَمان سها وليسَ يُفيقُ

    Like a gang who rose against you thinking

    time has forgotten them and will not awake

  8. أَغرقَتهم في بحر جودك قبلِها

    فاليوم كلّ في شقاهُ غَريقُ

    You drowned them in your sea of generosity before

    Now each struggles in their misery

  9. ان انتَ اكرمت اللَئيم فَإِنَّما

    للُّومِ ثَمَّ مَطالِبٌ وَحقوقُ

    If you honour the ignoble, you invite only

    blame and dues

  10. وَكَذا الكَريمُ اذا أُهين فانما

    هوَ بالتكرُّم والأَناةِ حقيقُ

    So too the noble - if humiliated, will only

    rise higher in nobility and composure

  11. فَلَقَد وَهَبتُهُم الحياةَ وإِنَّها

    هبةٌ بفضلك في السماح تليقُ

    For I granted them life by your grace -

    a gift befitting your generosity

  12. أَمقلّدي كافورَ في كفرانكم

    نِعَماً بها لِرقابكم تطويقُ

    They mimicked Ka’foor in their ingratitude

    adorned by blessings around their necks

  13. قد ضَلَّ جَهدكمُ واخفَق سَعيكم

    فَقلوبكم ابداً لهنَّ خفوقُ

    Their efforts went astray, their endeavours failed

    their hearts will forever quiver

  14. انَّ القضاءَ حليف من عاديتُمُ

    ومَن الَّذي حربَ القضاء يُطيقُ

    Destiny is ally to those you opposed

    and who can withstand destiny’s adversities

  15. لَو شئتَ منذُ البدءِ كنتَ امرتَهُ

    بهمِ ولكنَّ الكَريم شَفيقُ

    If you wished you could have from the start commanded

    them - but the noble one is merciful

  16. قَومٌ بَغوا امراً عليهِ تجمَّعوا

    جهلاً وامرهُمُ هوَ التَفريقُ

    A people who combined seeking a matter in

    ignorance - and their matter caused separation

  17. فَتَفرَّقوا فَلقوا بنفسهمِ الَّذي

    قصدوا كذاكَ المكرُ ليس يُحيقُ

    So they separated and met by their own hands what

    they intended - thus the scheme failed to mature

  18. لَقَد اِستَطالوا بالوَعيد وقصَّرت

    عند اللِقاءِ أَكفُهُّم والسوقُ

    They overreached with threats - but fell short

    when confronted - their palms and markets

  19. وَثبتَّ فَرداً في الخطوب كانما

    لك من فَريقِ النائِباتِ رَفيقُ

    You stood firm in adversities as if

    you had a band of aides from the substitutes

  20. قيَّدتَ نفسَكَ بالثَبات شجاعةً

    ان المُقيّد نفسُه لَطَليقُ

    You chained yourself in resolve and courage

    for the chained soul is free

  21. فَبَلوتَ ثَمَّتَ صدقَ مَن صادقتَهُ

    هَيهاتِ ما كُلُّ الصديق صدُوقُ

    You tested loyalty - how far from truth

    is the claim that all loyal ones are truthful

  22. وَعرفتَ مَن لبِس الولاءَ من العدى

    لَمّا أَلَمَّ بِسترِهِ التَمزيقُ

    And you recognised those dressed in false loyalty

    when their guise was torn

  23. فاهنأ بما لهم العزاءُ بِهِ ولا

    تبرح وانت الى الفَلاح سَبوقُ

    So delight in that which consoles them - while you

    race ahead to prosperity

  24. تَتَهلَّلُ الدنيا لديك كانها

    صَفحُ المُحيّا منك وهو طَليقُ

    The world smiles before you as if

    its flourishing face were free by your grace

  25. وَالنيلُ بين يديك يَلمَعُ وجهُهُ

    متبسِّماً ولكفِّه تَصفيقُ

    The Nile shimmers before you - its face

    smiling - its palms applauding

  26. في ضِفَّتَيهِ للاخضِرار زَبَرجَدٌ

    من خِصبها وَلَهُ العَقيقُ عَقيقُ

    On its banks emeralds for their fertility

    studded with carnelian

  27. لَو لَم يكن منهُ التكدُّرُ نافِعاً

    وَالنَفعُ ما تَبغي لكان يَروقُ

    If its turbulence did not bring benefit

    and benefit is what you seek - it would please

  28. شربَت بِهِ مَصرٌ بظلك اكؤُساً

    طربت بها فكانهنَّ رَحيقُ

    Egypt drank from it by your shade goblets

    that intoxicated - as if with pure wine

  29. تَجري لدى وُرَّادها وكأَنَّها

    مآءُ الحياة لديهمِ مدفوقُ

    It flows by those restored and as if

    the water of life flows free before them

  30. وَتشِفُّ عَنأَنوار عدلك دائماً

    فَلهم صَبوحٌ لا يَليهِ غَبوقُ

    Unveiling before them everlasting lights of your justice

    so their day has no evening

  31. عدلٌ اليهِ بعد جَهدهما انتهى

    كِسرى أَنوشِروانَ وَالفاروقُ

    A justice by which after their efforts concluded

    Kisra, Anushirwan and Al-Farooq

  32. وَلك الحِسانُ من الخَلائق دونها

    ما في العقود زَبَرجَدٌ وَعَقيقُ

    And you have the most beautiful character - unlike

    that which necklaces of carnelian and agate contain

  33. اخلاقُ لطفٍ كالنَسيم يشوبهُ

    مسكٌ بأَنفاس الصباح فَتيقُ

    A refined nature - like an untainted breeze

    infused with musk in the breaths of dawn

  34. خُلُقٌ طُبِعتَ عليهِ لا متشبِّهاً

    وَلأَنتَ عن حُكم الشَبيه تَفوقُ

    An essence you were stamped with - not an imitation

    while you rise above the judgement of similarity

  35. وَذكاءُ فكرٍ ثاقِبٍ متوقّدٍ

    تَجلو ظَلامَ الخَطب منهُ بروقُ

    And a piercing flame of an ardent intellect

    whose light dispels the darkness of tribulations

  36. وَيَكاد عندك للبَداهة والحِجى

    قبل النصور يُدرَك التَصديقُ

    And inspires conviction faster than the visible

    proof before the mind can fathom

  37. لِلَّه أَنتَ وحبذا ما نلتَ من

    عزٍّ بِهِ في الناس انتَ خَليقُ

    To God belongs praise - and aptly so for what

    you have attained in a might by which people are humbled

  38. فرعُ العليِّ محمَّدٍ وَكَذا الفرو

    عُ تطيب ان طابَت لهنَّ عروقُ

    Scion of the Lofty Muhammed and thus

    the branches - aromatic if their roots be aromatic

  39. عزٌّ بناهُ من القديم فانهُ

    بيتٌ تحجُّ لَهُ السعود عَتيقُ

    A might founded of old which

    dynasties make pilgrimage to in reverence

  40. أَسستموهُ على العُلى وَالحمد من

    قِدَمٍ فذلك في الفخار عَريقُ

    You established it aloft in praise and glory

    of lineage - and that is supreme in honour

  41. بالسعد مقرونٌ لفيفكُمُ الَّذي

    ابداً لَفيفُ عدوِّهِ مَفروقُ

    Fortune bound to you - while troops of your enemies

    are eternally scattered

  42. فاِسلَم فداك المبغضوك برغمهم

    وَلطالَما طوعاً فَداكَ صَديقُ

    So in their spite may those who hate you surrender themselves

    while for so long the loyal one has freely offered himself
