طيور الأنس قد صدحت بروضٍ
من الأفراح في أبهى نَضارَه
The birds of intimacy have sung in a meadow
Of joys, in its most splendid blossoming,
وثغرُ البشر يفترُّ ابتهاجاً
لما صدحت فما احلى افترارَه
And the lips of mortals part with delight
At their singing—how sweet is their parting!
شدت بالبدر اذ لاقتهُ شَمسٌ
وَقَد جُمِعا معاً في خير دارَه
The full moon has vied with the sun
When they met, in the best of abodes,
روت تأريخَها عنهُ وَقالَت
لكم منّا التَهاني بالبشارَه
And recounted its date, saying:
"We give you the glad tidings, good news!"
