تاهَت طرابُلُسٌ عزّا بسيدها

ذي الفضل بولسَ لَمّا تاجَها لَبسا

Tripolis grieved the loss of its master

Paul of great merit when he donned its crown

هناك قد قام ارّخ للعُلى شَرَفٌ

بِهِ تَرى بُولُساً أَعلى طَرابُلُسا

There did erect for the sublime heights a noble deed

Through it you see Paul raised above Tripolis
