منسقةً كاللآلي تحلي

جبينَ الورود بشكلٍ بديع

arranged like twinkling stars adorning

the forehead of roses in a wonderful way

هي الشهبُ تغرب في المشرقين

وخدَّاك مغربُ شهبِ الدموع

They are the falling stars setting in the two easts

and your cheeks are the sunset of the tears' falling stars

يرفرفُ جفنك إمّا هوت

فيخفقُ قلبي بنار الولوع

your eyelids flutter, did they fall

so my heart flutters with the fire of passion

كأنَّ بصدري شيئاً يهزُّ

مشاعرَ روحي ويذكي الضلوع

It is as if something in my chest shakes

the feelings of my soul and kindles my ribs

وإن كنت أضبتني وهجرتِ

وخلَّفتِ قلبي حليفَ الهلوع

And if you disappointed me and abandoned me

and left my heart the companion of anguish

ولكن دموعُك لاشت قواي

فها أنا ذا أتمنّى الرجوع

But your tears have ignited my strength

so here I am wishing to return

إلى السقم واليأس والموت فيكِ

فكُفّي البكاءَ وصوني الدموع

to the sickness, despair and death in you

So cease your crying and spare me the tears
