1. بِفَيض فَضلِكَ يَحيى العلمُ وَالأَدَبُ

    وَبِإِسمكَ اليَوم أَضحتَ تَفخرُ الكُتُبُ

    With the grace of your excellence, knowledge and literature revive

    And by your name today, books take pride

  2. فَمِن سَنى فَكرِكَ التَهذيبُ مُنتَشِرٌ

    وَمِن ضَيا فَهمِكَ الإِرشادُ مُنسَكِبُ

    So from the favored thoughts of your refinement spreads

    And from the light of your understanding, guidance overflows

  3. يا أَيُّها الكَوكَبُ العالي الَّذي رَقَصت

    لَهُ المَعالي وَخَرَّت دونَهُ الشُهُبُ

    O you high star for whom glories danced

    And planets bowed down before

  4. ما زالَ يَكسبُ مِنَ الشَرقُ رَونَقَهُ

    حَتّى إِنجَلى وَاِنجَلَت عَن وَجهِهِ السُحُبُ

    The East continues to gain its splendor from you

    Until the clouds cleared from its face

  5. لَو لَم يَكُن رَشف الأَفراح مِنكَ لَما

    أَهدى الصَباح ضَحوكاً وَهُوَ يَلتَهِبُ

    If it weren't for your joyful countenance

    The morning would not have smiled radiantly as it blazed

  6. يا صَدر دَولَتِنا الفَرد الَّذي سَطَعَت

    أَنوارُ حَكمَتِهِ في الكَونِ تَنسَكِبُ

    O pillar of our state, unique one whose

    Wisdom lights shine in the universe pouring down

  7. أَبصارُنا مَحدقاتٌ فيكَ شاخِصَةٌ

    إِلَيكَ تَنظُرُ مَعنى كُلهُ عَجَبُ

    Our eyes are fixed on you, staring

    At you, every sense of wonder looks

  8. قُلوبَنا بِحِما عَلياكَ لائِذَةٌ

    سَلَبتَها فَسرت بِالطَوعِ تَنسَلِبُ

    Our hearts take refuge in your sublime protection

    You have captivated them so they freely yield

  9. أَنتَ الأَمينُ عَلى الدُنيا فَكَيفَ غَدَت

    بِلُطفِكَ الساحر الأَرواحُ تَنتَهِبُ

    You are the trustee of the world, so how have

    With your charming kindness, souls come to plunder

  10. عَلَيكَ آمالُ أَهل الأَرضِ دائِرَةٌ

    وَأَنتَ تَحيي رَجاها أَيُّها القُطُبُ

    The hopes of all people revolve around you

    It is you who brings their aspirations to life O pole

  11. غَنَّت بِمَدحك اَفواهُ العِبادِ كَما

    رَنَّت بِأَوصافِكَ الأَشعارُ وَالخُطبُ

    The mouths of servants sang your praises

    As poems and sermons chime your attributes

  12. أَنتَ البَليغُ الَّذي أَلفاظُهُ دُرَرٌ

    تَهدى فَتحفظها في جيدِها الحِقَبُ

    You are the eloquent one whose words are pearls

    That are gifted so ages may preserve them in their bosoms

  13. لَقَد رَأَيتَ لِلآداب خَير حِماً

    تَهدي القَريض فَخاراً مِنكَ يَكتَسِبُ

    Indeed you have seen literature’s best patron

    Bestowing verses prosperity they gain from you

  14. فَجئتُ أَهديكَ مِن رَوضاتِهِ ثَمَراً

    إِذا نَظَرتَ إِلَيهِ يَحصل الأَرَبُ

    So I came to gift you from its gardens a fruit

    Which if you look upon, great benefit is obtained

  15. هُوَ الكِتابُ الَّذي قَدَمتهُ سَنَداً

    عَلى التَعلُقِ مثل العَهدِ يُكتَتَبُ

    It is the book I presented relying

    On attachment, like a pact inscribed

  16. شَرَّفتهُ بِاسمكَ العالي فَكانَ لَهُ

    هَذا السَميرُ الأَمينُ الأنَ يَنتَسِبُ

    I honored it with your lofty name so it has

    This trusted, loyal namesake now

  17. يَرجو القُبول فَقَد وافى عَلى خَجَلٍ

    يَرى المَهابَةَ تَعلوهُ فَيَضطَرِبُ

    It hopes for acceptance though bashfully it came

    Seeing the awe, it quivers and shakes
