لَما رآكَ مَليكَنا شَمساً لَهُ

لَم يَرضَ بَعدَكَ عَن أَثيرٍ عالي

When our King saw you as a sun for him

He was not pleased after you with a high ether

فَجَلاكَ في دارِ السَعادَةِ قائِلاً

خورشيد أَرّخ ناظِرٌ لِلمالِ

So he settled you in the abode of felicity, saying:

"Sun, shed your light on the domain!"
