اسمعي أنةَ الفؤاد الجَزوع

يا جُفوني وأذعِني للدُّموعِ

Hearken, O grieving heart

O my eyelids, listen to my tears

إنَّ داعٍ يكونُ أعلى نِداءً

بينَ داعي الضلوعِ داعٍ سَميعِ

A caller who makes the loudest call

Between the caller of ribs, a hearing caller

حَثَّهُ داعيا التذكر والوَج

دِ فأعطاهما قِيادَ المُطيعِ

Urged by the callers of recollection and passion

He gave them the leadership of the obedient

ثِقةً أنهُ يَدومُ من الشَّو

قِ ومثواهُ في مَكانٍ مَنيعِ

Trusting that he endures from ardor

And his abode is in an impregnable place
