طولُ حنينٍ إلى حنينِ

أورثَ فقدَ الكرى جُفوني

A longing's length to longing

Has caused the loss of my eyelids

يا حظَّ عيني ويا مناها

ومُنتهى غايتي وديني

O eye's fortune and their delight

And my aspiration's end and my religion

فجُد لِمن طَرفهُ غريقٌ

في عَبرةِ الوالهِ الحزينِ

Make provisions for one whose glance is drowning

In the tears of the sorrowful lover

أهدى هَواهُ إلى حشاهُ

طولَ الصَّباباتِ والأنينِ

His passion gifted him his folly

The long nights and groans
