نسبٌ إليهِ موكلٌ بالناظرِ

فرسولُ لحظةِ كلّ طرفٍ فاترِ

Linked to Him, is an observer entrusted

So the messenger of each languishing glance

قطعَ الزمان بي الهوى متلذذاً

متحيراً في ملكِ أحورَ قاصرِ

He severed time between me and passion, delighted

Perplexed in the kingdom of a charming adolescent

نورٌ أضاءَ به إليه مكملٌ

بالحسنِ ممزوجٌ بغصنٍ ناضرِ

A light by which He made visible to him the perfect one

In beauty mixed with a tender branch

لم يمتَنع قلبٌ دعاهُ بطرفهِ

مِن أن يكونَ كواقعٍ أو طائرِ

No heart that his glance called

Refused to be a fallen one or a bird
