أيا من تغير لي قلبه

بحبكِ قلبيَ فما ذنبهُ

O you who changed his heart for me

With your love my heart what wrong did it do

ويا سيدي ظالماً والذي

تمنيتُ من ربهِ قربه

And O my lord unjustly and He whom

I wished from his Lord to be near Him

يبيتُ يلذُّ الكرى طرفهُ

ويمنعُ طرفي الكرى حبُّهُ

He spends the night delighting his eye

And his love prevents my eye from delight

سروريَ أن لا يذوقَ الضنى

وأن لا يعاقبهُ ربُّهُ

My happiness is that he tastes no sorrow

And that his Lord does not punish him
