لو كنتَ تَسمعُ ما يقولُ تكلَّما
دَنِفُ الفؤادِ إليكَ منكَ تظلَّما
If you could hear what my heart is saying
It would come close to you, complaining of your oppression
لم تخشَ فِيه اللَه يومَ منعتَه
حقّ التحيةِ حيثُ مرَّ مسلِّما
You did not fear God the day you denied it
The right of greeting as it passed by, a Muslim
هجرَ الكَرى عَينيهِ حينَ هَجرتَهُ
فهناكَ إن كَراه منكَ تعَلما
It has turned its eyes away from people since you abandoned it
So if it still cares for you, it is little
مَلَّ الحياةَ مِن الذي في قلبهِ
فلئِن تمتَّعَ بالحياةِ فقَلما
He who carries in his heart what I carry
Has little enjoyment of life, if any
