مبايناً في الجمالِ للبشرِ

O kohl of the eyelids with maidens

Surpassing humans in beauty

وشادناً جل من محاسنهِ

في الوصفِ عن مشبهٍ وعن قدرِ

Exalting the one with perfections

Beyond description, match, or extent

أما تخافُ الإلهَ في دنفٍ

كحلتهُ بالدموعِ والسهرِ

Do you not fear God for a being

Whose eyes you darken with tears and vigil?

دعاكَ يا ذا الذي تعبدني

وجداً ولم يشتفِ من النظرِ

He called you, O worshipper of me,

With passion, unsatisfied by the gaze
