One tearful eye, another that weeps

And an ardent lover remembering you

O you who bring joy's radiant light and you

Whose beauty both harms and brings relief

If you would take pity on one hurt, dejected

You'd have mercy on me, for I'm the sad, the pained

Reproach has lingered, so to those who blame, I'll say

Say what you will, for I do not hear
