نسيتُ لما الحبيبُ لي هَجرا

لومي ولمتُ الفؤادَ إذ صَبرا

When my lover left me, I forgot all

I blamed myself, though my heart showed patience

هَذا مُدل بحسنِ صورتهِ

وذاك لم يقضِ من هوى وطَرا

One attracts with his beauty

Another hasn't fulfilled the passion of love

لا عذَّبَ اللَه من بلي بهوى

ولا ابتلى بالصدودِ من غَدرا

May God not torment one afflicted by love

Or test with rejection one who betrays

فقد سئمتُ الحياةَ بينَهما

وأبدلاني من صَفوِها كدرا

For I'm tired of life between them

They've changed its serenity into bitterness
