O you who resemble Layla, the rain has made your land prosperous,
And guidance and green pastures have come to you,
A Khudari rain-cloud waters you when it rains heavily,
I thought the one approaching was deaf to hearing,
From Yemen over Najran he inclines his course,
And from there over Salma and radiant Salman,
And from there over the lofty castles of Oman it pours down,
And in the valley the tents of Uthman are widespread,
The morning breeze repels its winds while dominant,
As a stirring she-camel repels the mounting of males,
The south wind crawls over its heights inverted
As a heavily loaded camel rises up slanted,
It topples the tall acacias in their dens,
And lively tongues praise him,
And the fire of dawning’s magic wood raised its light,
With the morning, the stirring gusts of wind.
