1. أَما تَرى أَعيُنَ النَوارِ ناظِرَةً

    تَرنو إِلَيكَ بِأَحداقٍ وَأَجفانِ

    Don't you see the eyes of the wildcat staring

    Yearningly at you with pupils and eyelids

  2. وَالأَرضُ في حُلَلٍ مِن أَمرِها عَجَبُ

    لَيسَت بِصيغَة إِنسيّ وَلا جانِ

    And the earth in robes of wonder about her state

    Not fashioned in human or jinn style

  3. حاكَ السَحابُ لها ثَوباً وَأَلحَمَهُ

    نَوعَينِ من لُؤلُؤ رَطبٍ وَمَرجانِ

    The clouds have woven a garment and joined it

    With two kinds of moist pearls and coral
