أِنا اِبنُ أُناسٍ مَوَّلَ الناسَ جودُهُم

فَأَضحوا حَديثاً بِالنَوالِ المُشَهَّرِ

I am the son of people whose generosity has captivated people

So they became the talk of the town for their famous hospitality

فَلَم يَخلُ من إِحسانِهِم لَفظُ مُخُبِرٍ

وَلَم يَخلُ مِن تَقريظِهِم بَطنُ دَفتَرِ

No word ever lacked their benevolence

Nor any book lacked their praise
