1. اللَهُ يَعلَمُ أَنَّني لَكَ شاكِرٌ

    وَالحُرُّ لِلفِعلِ الجَميلِ شَكورُ

    God knows that I am grateful to you

    And the free man is grateful for the good deed

  2. لكِن رَأَيتُ بِبابِ دارِكَ جَفوَةً

    فيها لِصَفوِ صَنيعَةٍ تَكديرُ

    But I saw coldness at your door

    In it is the tarnishing of a pure favor

  3. ما بالُ دارِكَ حينَ تَدخُلُ جَنَّةٌ

    وَبِبابِ دارِكَ مُنكَرٌ وَنَكيرُ

    Why is it that when a paradise enters your house

    At your door there is denial and refusal
