I called out to life when by my side
Staggered a drunk who held my head and feet
The monks' fire shone out in the monastery and
Their bells called you to morn so rise
So he rose, stumbling o’er his drowsiness’ robes
To a crystalline cup like a star in the dark
He took it and drank while the cup’s in his hand
Give regards to the folk of Salma in Dhi Salam
If I’ve a confidant and close embrace in life
I wouldn’t care for kin or womb relation
Nor long for any sweet for the attainer
Or heed anything of blessings
