دَخَلتُ عَلى باخِلٍ مَرَّةً
وَجَنّاتُ بُستانِهِ زاهِرَه
Once I entered a miser's abode
With blossoming gardens in that yard
وَقَد قابَلَ النَورُ نَقشَ السُتورِ
فَأَعيُنُ زُوّارِهِ حائِرَه
Where light had etched shapes on the windows
Leaving visitors' eyes filled with awe
جِنانٌ تُعَجَّلُ لِلباخِلينَ
وَنَحنُ نُؤَجَّلُ لِلآخِرَه
Heavens hastened for the stingy ones
While we awaited the life hereafter
