دَعِيني مِنَ العَذلِ أَينَ الكَبيرُ
بِحُرمَةِ مَعبودِك الأَكبَرِ
Let me weep for glory now withdrawn
By Him whose worship you call most adored,
فَلَستُ بِباكٍ عَلى ظاعِنٍ
وَلا طَلَلٍ مَحوِلٍ مُقفِر
My tears lament no faithless love forlorn,
No home left tenantless and cold and bare;
وَلكِن بُكائي عَلى ماجِدٍ
أَرادَ نَوالاً فَلَم يَقدِرِ
But the proud fortunes of a day outworn
That sought ambition's prize and failed to share.
