لعل من فضل ربي أن طوع يدي

لبس الحرير ولكن لست لابسه

Perhaps by the grace of my Lord my hand will be guided

To wear silk garments, though I do not wear them

مخافة الزهو أو أن الفقير يرى

ثوبي فأحزن من حزن يلابسه

Fearing arrogance, or lest the poor should see

My clothes, and grieve for the grief clothing them
