Ignorance insisted on shaking a throne

Protected by the hand of the Merciful from trembling

Yet it only shook every terrified heart

Neighboring in the meadows a similarly terrified heart

    Whenever news saddened him

Tears would flow through the Nile Valley like the Nile

    And whoever plotted against Al-‘Abbas

Plotted against Egypt and all its loved ones

And whoever tries to extinguish the lamp of a nation

Will see God protect the light and all the people
