Time has grown fair, and Egypt here has drunk
The cup of joys, unveiled by the hand of glad tidings.
And this is longing, urging us toward a king
Before whose lofty ambitions the greatest affairs are small.
And this is the festival, and good fortune has dated it:
Tawfiq of Egypt—through him our festivals are grand.
