    And by her I’m exhausted,

    في الصَباح إِذ رَكِبوا

    Religious duties and kinship ties,

    The Prophet seeks them

    وَالفُروضُ وَالقُرَب

    And the lover comes closer,

    وَالمَشوقُ يَنجَذِب

    Carpentry and reputation,

Give me the good news, tell me,

    وَالنجارُ وَالحَسَبُ

    Have they come closer?

    ما تَقولُ مُقتَضَبُ

Or if you refrain, our appointment
