بَعدَ أَعوامِ عُزلَةٍ وَشهورِ

Where is my patience now, who remembers my patience

After years of isolation and months

اِسأَلوا الشِعرَ فهوَ أَعلمُ هلّا

أَكَلَتهُ الأَسماكُ طيَّ بُحورِ

Ask the poetry for it knows best

If the fish have consumed it in tranquil seas
