وَهَل هَمَّ يَوماً شيركوهُ بِجِلَّقٍ

إِلى الصَيدِ إِلّا اِرتاعَ في مِصرَ شاوَرُ

Never once did Sherkoh desire

To hunt except the land of Egypt quaked in fear

هُوَ المَلِكُ المَنصورُ وَالأَسَدُ الَّذي

شَذى ذِكرِهِ في الشَرقِ وَالغَربِ سائِرُ

He is the victorious king, the lion whose

Fame spread far and wide through east and west
