يا مَن إِذا جِئتُهُ سَئولاً

وَلَستُ بِالسائلِ اللَجوجِ

O you—when I come to you as a petitioner,

though I am no importunate beggar—

حَرَّكَ لي مُوعِداً بِمُطلٍ

حادِيَ عَشرٍ مِنَ البُروجِ

you shift the date you promised me, stalling,

to the eleventh sign of the zodiac.
