تُرى عِندَ مَن أَحبَبتُهُ لا عَدِمتُهُ
مِنَ الشَوقِ ما عِندي وَما أَنا صانِعُ
I wonder: does the one I love—may I never lose him—
harbor the love I harbor? And what am I to do?
جَميعي إِذا حَدَّثتُ عَن ذاكَ أَلسُنٌ
وَكُلّي إِذا حُدِّثتُ عَنهُ مُسامِعُ
My whole being, when I speak of that one, becomes tongues;
and all of me, when I am told of him, becomes ears.
