The garden smiled when the rain wept

So for spring there are meadows adorned with flowers

For God the twittering of the warbler when it began

And roses are strung and scattered blossoms scattered

So drink happily in the light of the crescent at dawn

For the birds sing what the strings do not sing

And take the cup from a full moon circulating among them

A gazelle with the glances of a houri in its eyes

For this is comfort and basil accompanying it

And the river and the flowers and the yellow and the moon

Beauties and the majesty of God - did grief and thought ever cease

Except that sorrows and thoughts withered away
