وَمَحبوبَةٍ في القَيظِ لَم تَخلُ مِن يَدٍ

وَفي القَرِّ تَسلوها أَكُفُّ الحَبائِبِ

A beloved in the heat who's never without a friend

And in the cold, hands of lovers comfort her

إِذا ما الهَوى المَقصورُ هَيَّجَ عاشِقاً

أَتَت بِالهَوى المَمدودِ مِن كُلِّ جانِبِ

When confined passion stirs up a lover

It comes to her from all sides with outstretched passion
