Yearn for the abode from the one with soft hands, yearn

Like the kohl that runs in her eyelids, yearn

This is my crying for them while she is present

No miles between us any day, no yearning

Her stride, nothing in it is silent

Nor do the anklets on her feet jingle

As if her stature is a spear and her smile

Dawn, and it’s enough you have a sweet as honey

Every day, with her eyes and stature

My blood and tears on the ruins are spilled

If they envy me for her, I don’t blame them

That’s why Cain turned on Abel

I do love what her gown contains

And I don’t hate what the pants contain

Many a leg of hers quenched my thirst

Panting, like the lines of milk poured

Until when we were sated, went her comfort

    Weakness and much kissing

The cupbearer’s hand came upon me and his eyes

But I, the reins of reason restrain me

So how do I fear the turns of fate, for steady

Is my lord’s sword, Sword of the Faith, unsheathed

A king not distracted from glory one day

By a rosy cup nor a lovely disheveled one

Does he fall short of valor and generosity

When in him gather height and height
