O friend, the doves have cooed and warbled,

Leave the wine and drinking it, you who have wandered.

Or don't you see the autumn trees as if

Their leaves were gold and sapphires?

The cup gives you madness whenever

You sing joyfully and fall into ecstasy.

From the hand of a beauty, bright like the dawn, fluttering,

Who has adorned the branches with grace and affection.

The kohl played with her eyes, so they fluttered

And blush spread over her cheeks.

A moon that hides when melancholy begins

And I hide from the spies when it appears.

I called its flightiness and the light of its forehead,

Glory to Him who paired misguidance with guidance!
