1. أنا أفدي على الهجران زينا

    وإن كنا على عمدٍ كنينا

    I sacrifice myself for the beautiful estrangement

    Even though we intentionally withdrew

  2. وما زيناً بتغذيةٍ أردنا

    ولكنا عنينا من عنينا

    We did not intend the estrangement to be beautiful

    But we became tender from tenderness

  3. أقول وقد رأيتُ لها سماءً

    من الهجرانِ مقبلةً إلينا

    I say, as I saw a sky for it

    Approaching us from the estrangement

  4. وقد سحت عزاليها بصدٍّ

    حوالينا الصدودُ ولا علينا

    And its remoteness has roamed around with rejection

    The rejections surround us, not against us
