تَصبّحَ أَقوامٌ عَن المَجدِ وَالعُلا
فَأَضحوا نياماً وَهوَ لَم يَتَصَبَّحِ
Some people slept the morning away, far from glory and the heights;
by noon they still lay sleeping—glory had not slept in.
إِذا كَدَحت اعراضُ قَومٍ بلؤمِهم
نَجا سالِماً مِن لؤمِهم لَم يُكدَّحِ
When a people’s honor is scarred by their own baseness,
whoever escapes their baseness unscathed remains unblemished.
لدينكَ إِنَّ المَجدَ أَطلقَ رحلَه
لَدَيكَ عَلى خَصبٍ خَصيبٍ وَمسَرَحِ
By your faith, glory has unloosed its saddle
at your abode, amid luxuriant abundance and broad pasture.
